Winter on the west coast can be quite dreary. Day
after day of rain, combined with winds that often reach gale-force
will leave you couped up in your house, itching to get out. The
first snowfall of the year is a memorable occasion. Kids grab their
snowgear and head for the nearest hill, knowing full well that their
white carpet of snow will probably not last the night.
“Snowflake” was created to portray the temporality
of the snowfall and of life. Each flake is different and unique.
Each flake contains a vital force that shapes the world around it.
Each flake will eventually disappear to appear again in another
form.
“Snowflake” is a limited edition print using the giclée
method of printmaking. Print production took place during November
of 2005 at the artist’s own studio in Comox B.C. A total of
109 prints bear the title “Snowflake” and are signed
by Andy Everson: 99 in the primary edition bearing the numbers 1/99
through 99/99; 9 Artist’s Proofs; and 1 Printer’s Proof.
