Footprints

SOLD OUT
Sold exclusively through the Inuit Gallery, Vancouver, BC.
We start our lives relying on the comfort and support of our families.
This enables us to flourish and to grow. Soon we are taking small
steps. Wobbly at first, we slowly gain confidence until we are
able to walk from one end of the room to the other. Eventually
we are running outside, freedom in the wind. Behind us, we leave
our footprints—proof of our endeavours, proof that we were
there.
When we encounter difficulties in our life, our souls reach out for that same
support that we had as infants. For the fortunate among us, we can look to our
parents or our brothers or sisters, to our spouse or to our children. We lean
on them, talk to them and cry with them. We look beside us to see that their
footprints are marking the earth with us.
This print is dedicated to all of those that are there to provide
support. It is for those who are at the side of the road screaming
words of encouragement to finish that marathon. It is for those
who raise money for research to find a cure or at least stop the
pain. It is for those who are there to provide a shoulder to cry
on or a hand to hold. It is for those that have watched their love
one win their battle with cancer and it is for those that have
had to watch their lives slip away. They have all left their mark
and their “footprints” remain.
“Footprints” was created to aid in the fundraising
efforts of Ironcops for Cancer, a team of police officers and civilian
members who raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society and compete
in Ironman Canada every second year. Partial proceeds from the
sale of this print will be added to the Ironcops for Cancer donation
to the Canadian Cancer Society. “Footprints” is available
exclusively through the Inuit Gallery in Vancouver, BC.
